    Welsh Proms 21st July

posting on website shows this as third concert for boys, nothing on St Davids Hall website yet.

sadly for me this one like the others are on weekdays so I am unlikely to get to any of them, perhaps there will be something scheduled for a saturday somewhere :(

I called in the St.David.s Hall this morning and was told that tickets go on sale to the public 0n Saturday 27th February. To members of the Friends of St.Davids Hall group, tickets are available Saturday 20th. If you are booking four concerts in the proms series, tickets are available even earlier. We are not members of the St.David's friends, (£15 per year) so it seems like the 27th for us. The programme mentions that the Boys will be performing music from Star Wars and James Bond. I see that The Soldiers are in the St.David's Hall soon (1st April I think)  and are performing with 'Friends'. ............OMA perhaps?

Thanks for the extra information Tixy. I've been a bit lax lately on getting info with one thing and another so I appreciate you giving us all the heads up.

    Hya J,

I have a cold but I dragged myself into Town on the bus this morning to go to St.Davids Hall. I thought I could get the tickets today, but not to be. At least I got some information. My head is thumping and I'm watching Wales trailing to England at Twickers on TV. Then an early night I think.

Typical man, a little cold and the world comes to an end.

                                                                            Cheers.

    Hi C,

Thank you I am feeling better today, thanks to that stuff we import from Scotland. What's it called?...Ah yes, Whisky.

I have been quiet of late on the forum as I suffered a huge disappointment when my entry in the revue competition didn't win me a signed photograph. They could have given them to the first 100 entries and maybe I would have been lucky. The Doctor says I'm making  good progress and should stay away from those competitions in future. At my age the excitement can be too much.

Lets hope there will be a surprise OMA concert or two, soon.

Unfortunately those pesky medics have banned me from alcohol for a while so the whisky cure won't work on me.  I've had a horrible sore throat ever since my unexpected medical visit.  I suppose at least that means nobody has to listen to me singing! Do you know a good pharmacist who could offer advice?

I'm sure your competition entry was magnificent - at least you didn't whimp out and not even try like some of us who get our pens in a knot just thinking about such things.

Hope to see you (and Mrs Tixy) very soon, but the travel plans may change as I'm not yet ready for driving long distance.  I'll be in touch.

    C

Glad you are feeling better Tixy. I don't suppose the result on Saturday did much to cheer you - it certainly didn't do anything to lighten my mood! I must admit I didn't enter the competition, not that I didn't want to write a review but I have been having such problems with my computer and it doesnt seem to want to send emails again. I've been sending them from my Blackberry but a review was a bit long to type on my phone.

I shall rise above this seeing as you are such a good friend to me and I will forgive you your lack of good judgement re Rugby and the Welsh. It is a cause for a national day of mourning when (albeit rarely) England beat Wales. Although in fact England didn't so much beat us as we threw it away. When I get my hands on AWJ...

Hooray!  Got tickets for the proms today - and in tier 1 too.  Looking forward to it already - although I've never been known to wear a posh frock in my life so no pointing and laughing please.

Woohoo -I'm going too - thats the plan anyway - all I need now is a stunning evening gown and a suitably stunning figure to show it off. Getting the dress will be the easy part!!

5 months of Ryvita is a daunting prospect.  Thought the rate I'm going there will be nothing left inside me and I'll finally fit into something ladylike.

Good idea - the Celebrity restaurant at St. David's Hall does a pre-show meal. Maybe a bit expensive, but very good.
